We Host Experiences in Israel That Build Global Relationships

IO Initiative hosts high-level programs in Israel for diplomats and policymakers—connecting them directly with people, institutions, and industries relevant to their countries’ priorities, building mutually beneficial relationships in the process.

Why Targeted Outreach is Effective

Diplomats and leaders worldwide often accept inaccurate information about Israel at face value, with limited frames of reference for alternative viewpoints.

We address this gap by bringing decision-makers to Israel for curated, on-the-ground experiences. Through access to government institutions, innovators, and industry leaders, participants gain firsthand understanding of the realities shaping the region—while engaging with Israeli expertise in areas such as water, agriculture, health, and technology that are directly relevant to their countries’ priorities. This combination of context and practical value creates a more informed foundation for long-term cooperation.

Projects Initiated

Watergen

Liberia, South Sudan and Cameroon have pursued agreements to bring Watergen and other Israeli technology to their home countries after visiting Israel. Water-gen is a device that makes clean drinking water out of thin air.

Sierra Leone

Adikalie Foday Sumah, who served as ambassador from Sierra Leone to the United Nations founded the Salone/Israel Friendship Organization following an Israel Up Close mission. “Through Israel’s capabilities in the areas of education, technology and industry, sky is the limit for Sierra Leone.”

Czech House

The Czech Republic opened the Czech House in Jerusalem after visiting Israel on IOI’s mission. The Czech House was established to support tourism, and more importantly foster business and trade contacts. The Czech House also collaborates closely with the government agencies CzechTourism, CzechTrade, and CzechInvest. Since its opening, the Czech House Jerusalem has presented several cultural events, workshops, lectures and more.

Reflections from Ambassadors

It was an interesting, enriching, as well as an enlightening visit for us. It gave us a better appreciation for the success that Israel is making. We can appreciate the difficulties Israel is facing in the region and at the same time it’s culture and history and I am very happy for that.

This has been an eyeopener for me. You read a lot in the media about what’s happening here…but I wish more Ambassadors would have the chance to come and see it for themselves.
